Top companies like Fujifilm have brought back the concept of instant print cameras. Even Polaroid has made a comeback with newer camera models. Here are some reviews on the most popular instant print cameras.
Fujifilm instax mini 50s
The Fujifilm instax mini 50s is a pretty cool camera. There’s two unique self timers on it. One of them counts down from 10 seconds. The other self timer is a double shot, so it takes one picture then when the film comes out it automatically takes the other shot. There’s two shutter buttons on the camera. The purpose is so that you can hold the camera vertically or horizontally and still be comfortable taking pictures. Also if you hold the camera vertically it actually takes a vertical shot instead of staying horizontal. There’s also a yellow light that comes on in the back that’s an indicator of you having film in your camera. It also tells you have much film you have left after each picture
Fujifilm instax mini 7s
The Fujifilm instax mini 7s comes with batteries in the box and a 2 pack box of film. The camera does not have an on and off button. You have to pull the lens out to turn the camera on. When you want to turn the camera off you would then have to put the lens back in. You’ll have your settings at the top of the camera near the slot where the film ejects from. Those setting control the sunlight exposure, cloudiness for outside pictures, and it controls the flash. You pop the film into the back of the camera and the batteries go in on the side.
Fujifilm instax mini 8
The Fujifilm instax mini 8 is a little bit smaller than the 7s. It’s not smaller in height; it’s just a thinner model. The thinner version makes it a little easier to hold. There are some features that still around from the 7s but there are differences as well. For example there’s a button on the lens now that makes powering up the camera a lot quicker. On the 7s you had to extend the lens in order to turn the camera on. There’s also a sensor now that helps you with filter settings to help you get perfect exposure for each picture.
Fujifilm instax mini 70
The Fujifilm instax mini 70 is extremely smaller than all the other versions before it. The model is also completely different. It’s not as cute and toy like as the other models. It’s still very cool in design. It looks slightly more like a serious camera, but it still comes in fun colors. You still put the film in the back of the camera, but you also put the batteries back there as well now. There’s now a selfie mode on this camera. It controls the distance, so when you have the lens turned on yourself it won’t shoot at close range.
Fujifilm instax mini 90 Neo Classic
This camera is similar to the mini 70 design but it is a little smaller and a bit more retro looking. The 70 looks more modern. A cool thing about this camera is that the feature settings are right on the back. That makes them easily accessible. Back there you can find the timer, a button for controlling the modes, the flash button, and more for exposure. This camera allows you to take multiple shots at one time. You can even two shots per instant photo. This is something no other instant film camera has ever been able to do.
Polaroid zip mobile printer
The Polaroid zip mobile printer works with both iPhone and Android. This printer works with bluetooth but you have to download the app for it first. The app should be found in the app store from your phone or tablet. The printer itself has a nice design it’s very shiny and sleek. You can easily take it with you on the go. It’s rounded corners helps it slip into pockets and bags with no problems. You store the Zink paper that comes with it into the top of the printer. There’s a slot on the front of the printer where the pictures will print from.
The Polaroid snap is a 10 megapixel digital camera. It has a built in SD slot and a built in battery so it must be adequately each time for proper use. Right at the bottom there’s an area for you to screw in a tripod, which might come in handy for most people. There are coloring options for the pictures as well as border options for your design. The flash pops out from up top and the pictures print out from the slot on the side of the camera. You load up the paper through the back of the camera before turning it on. The pictures print quickly, and in full color, so you don’t have to wait for them to expose.
The Polaroid 600 is extremely similar to the original old school polaroids. It’s much smaller of course and it has a built in flash which makes it easy to use. There’s also the light adjuster. Both help with having good exposure for indoor photos and low light photos. To use the flash there’s a red button on the side of the camera that you just push in and hold. You will hear the flash powering up as you hold it in. When it’s done you let the button go. And the pictures print out at the bottom of the camera just like the old school version.
The Polaroid SX-70 is a very unique camera. It’s also a very old camera. This model was first released in 1972. It comes in a very modern and compact design, which is funny since this camera model is not new. When the camera is closed it sort of looks like a box of cigars. It has a long and thin design. The compact design makes it easy to travel with. Once it is open you’ll see the adjustable focus on one side. That wheel is right next to the red shutter button. On the other side you will see the adjustable lighting and darkening wheel.
The lomo’instant camera is an instant print camera, but it is designed for more serious photographers. There are features that set set this camera apart from any other instant print camera. You can take a picture and play with the filters for a more professional look. This camera uses Fujifilms instax film for it’s pictures. This allows the pictures to print with more detail. They will also print out larger. The camera comes with a few fun lens and accessories. There’s a small mirror on the front so that you can see yourself in a selfie and the shutter button is right next to it. The controls for the camera are right on the back and easy to use for your convenience.
